Background and Path to Medicine
Dr. Hawke Yoon grew up in Idaho before earning his B.A. in Biology at the University of Chicago. Following graduation, he spent two years in Guyana with the Peace Corps. He attended medical school at the University of Utah.
Path to Pediatric Ophthalmology
Dr. Yoon completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Medical University of South Carolina Storm Eye Institute, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center. He believes one of the best parts of pediatric ophthalmology is the ability to serve as the primary caregiver, subspecialist, and surgeon for pediatric patients.
Practicing Pediatric Ophthalmology
Since 2007, Dr. Yoon has worked as an attending surgeon in pediatric ophthalmology at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He is also an associate professor in ophthalmology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
