The University of Chicago’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science seeks full-time Academic Pediatric Ophthalmologists at any faculty rank. Appointees will provide patient care in pediatric ophthalmology, including strabismus and retinopathy of prematurity; interest and experience in adult strabismus is welcome. Patient care will take place at our main ambulatory building in Hyde Park and Comer Children’s Hospital, and other sites as determined by the needs of the department. Minimum Qualifications

• MD/DO or compatible degree international medical degree
• 3 years ophthalmology residency and 1-year AAPOS approved pediatric ophthalmology fellowship.

• 5 year Clinical experience in the field of pediatric ophthalmology
• Experience in teaching medical students and residents in the area of pediatric ophthalmology

The Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology is a busy pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus clinical practice that provides the only full-time practice in Central Illinois providing comprehensive pediatric eyecare outside of the Chicago area for the entire State of Illinois. The current faculty consists of 2 senior pediatric ophthalmologists along with 2 junior faculty members providing pediatric eyecare along with treating adult strabismus patients. 

The Department of Pediatrics of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) seeks Pediatric Ophthalmology candidates for a position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics.  The candidate must hold an MD/DO degree, be BC/BE in Ophthalmology and successfully complete an AAPOS approved fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and will hold or be eligible for an Illinois physician license.  This is a faculty position, as such requires clinical care, teaching medical students and residents, research and scholarly activities.

The position will provide clinical consultation services for pediatric patients in the Children’s Hospital of Illinois (CHOI)

Clinical activities of the faculty are primarily concentrated at CHOI, which is the primary pediatric teaching facility for UICOMP and is a 132-bed facility that offers over 50 pediatric programs and services.  These programs represent over 100 pediatric sub-specialist in 24 different disciplines, including the largest pediatric surgery program in Illinois.  CHOI is the only full-service tertiary hospital for children in downstate Illinois with a children and adult congenital heart disease program, Illinois Perinatal Center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit and is designated as a Level I trauma center.

Wolfe Eye Clinic is searching for a Fellowship-trained BC/BE pediatric/adult strabismus ophthalmologist to join our growing Des Moines regional practice. Our current regional professional pediatric staff includes 3 optometrists and a very busy pediatric ophthalmologist after the recent retirement of a senior pediatric ophthalmologist. This pediatric eye department is the nearest provider of these subspecialty services for a population of over one million.
 
The successful candidate for this position will join a comprehensive and subspecialty practice that includes retina, cornea, glaucoma, and oculoplastic subspecialists. The pediatric/adult strabismus referral relationships with pediatricians and other eye care providers are well-established in this practice.
 
Our pediatric eye team has over 18,000 patient visits annually. Surgical volume has increased steadily to over 800 cases annually. All surgical cases are performed in our own ophthalmology-specific six OR ASC that provides the latest in surgical technology and a staff that is 100% dedicated to eye surgery. In addition to a busy surgical and clinical practice, the successful candidate would share responsibility for local retinopathy of prematurity screenings and treatment with the other pediatric ophthalmologist and our retina fellows.
