PEDIATRIC OPHTHALMOLOGIST

 

The Ophthalmology Department at Children’s Hospital New Orleans (CHNOLA) is seeking a full-time fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist to join our clinically active and growing practice group. Candidates should be board certified or eligible. Participation in daily clinical activities, which includes outpatient visits, surgery, NICU screening for ROP and hospital consultations, allow for a diverse exposure to all areas of pediatric ophthalmology. Besides clinical responsibilities, opportunities exist to participate in clinical research.  

  • Join our dedicated team of 2 full time pediatric ophthalmologists, 2 part time pediatric ophthalmologists, 1 pediatric optometrist, 2 certified orthoptists, and 1 COT and 3 COAs.
  • 3 clinic locations: CHNOLA Main Campus, Metairie (15 min away from Main Campus), and Northshore (45 min away from Main Campus).
  • Emergency call rotation of 1:4 with resident coverage (call is 1 week out of every 4 weeks). 
  • State of the art operating rooms.
  • Clinical and surgical teaching opportunities with PGY 3 residents from LSU and Tulane ophthalmology residency training programs.

Duke Eye Center is accepting applications for a full-time pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus specialist.  The successful candidate will provide care for patients in a multi-specialty academic practice with six locations in the Raleigh-Durham/Research Triangle Park area.  The Duke Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus includes 10 faculty and serves as a referral center at the local, regional, and national level.   This faculty member will practice at our Holly Springs, NC satellite office, as well as at the main Duke Eye Center in Durham.

Candidates must have successfully completed a fully accredited ophthalmology residency training program, a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, and be American Board of Ophthalmology certified or eligible within one year of hire.  

This position requires both excellent clinical skills as well as a dedication to academic ophthalmology, and the faculty member will be expected to engage in teaching as well as clinical research activities.  Post-fellowship work experience and an interest in pediatric glaucoma and intraocular surgery are preferred but not required.

In addition, we maintain close working relationships with the community pediatrics and pediatric sub specialists throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area.

In addition to our strong pediatric team, TEG has all sub-specialties represented. Additionally, TEG uses Modernizing Medicine as its electronic medical records system, with portals for patients and referring providers, and record- sharing partnerships with other practices in the region. We also understand that, as a physician, you’d much rather focus on patient care than the day-to-day details of running a business.
