The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of Arizona-Tucson and Banner University Medical Group is actively seeking a fellowship-trained academic Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Specialist to join our growing Department led by Dr. Jonathan M. Holmes. The Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus team also includes Joseph M. Miller MD MPH; Jordana M. Smith MD; Rita M. Bhakta OD; J. Daniel Twelker OD PhD; and Erin M. Harvey PhD.

You will be responsible for the surgical and non-surgical management of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus patients. Clinical services are provided at the Banner University Medicine Ophthalmology Clinic in Tucson, with coverage for two medical center campuses located within 15 minutes from the clinic. Our residency program has 4 residents per year and we are looking for a candidate with an enthusiastic commitment to teaching. The preferred candidate will also possess strong research interests, either in clinical research, basic science research, or both.

The qualified physician will receive a faculty appointment with the University of Arizona Department of Medicine, commensurate with their credentials, including a generous tuition discount for the applicant and immediate family members.

Minimum Requirements include:

      The Department of Ophthalmology at UTMB Health in Galveston, Texas is actively recruiting enthusiastic candidates for the position of Pediatric Ophthalmologist. Must be Fellowship Trained and Board Eligible/Board Certified. This position will provide cross coverage care in our League City, Texas City and Galveston locations. Care will include examinations, outpatient clinics, and consults and will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in committee memberships at the department and Health system level.

      The UTMB Health Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (OVS) has a long-standing tradition of excellence in research and education. OVS has trained more eye doctors than any other medical school in the region and boasts over 30,000 ambulatory encounters and 2,600 eye surgeries annually.       Phoenix Children’s Hospital

      The Division of Ophthalmology at Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist to join our current team of ten physicians. Members of the division participate in clinical care, teaching medical students and pediatric residents and have the opportunity for clinical and basic science research. We have affiliations with Mayo Clinic Medical School, University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and Creighton Medical School. The candidate will be an integral and interactive member of the Division of Ophthalmology and participate in the inpatient and outpatient management of ophthalmology patients.

      Our center is the major referral center in the Southwestern region for pediatric ophthalmology patients providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with a variety of eye disorders. The center has high pathology and performs 1600 cases per year. Our physicians care for and treat all fields of pediatric ophthalmology including congenital and infantile glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, retinoblastoma, oculoplastics and adult strabismus.
