As the only pediatric ophthalmologists serving the entire state of New Mexico, we are now seeking a 5th pediatric ophthalmologist to join our practice.  We are experiencing unprecedented growth and we have a wonderful opportunity for another fellowship-trained, pediatric ophthalmologist to join our practice.
The appropriate candidate for this position wants to practice in a friendly, caring, and professional environment. We are committed to continuing our non-corporate approach to providing personalized, ethical, quality care to our patients. We are seeking a partner who shares these values and also wants to share in the benefits and challenges of working in our patient-centered practice. Our emphasis in seeking a new partner is on sharing responsibilities and revenue among physicians in an equitable manner.
We have only one clinical office that is centrally located in Albuquerque. All of our doctors are on staff at the University of New Mexico where we perform surgery and screen and treat NICU babies for retinopathy of prematurity. There is also a possible option for teaching ophthalmology residents. We do NOT take call for any hospital or emergency department.

In addition to a competitive base salary, the physician we hire will receive a signing bonus as well as significant productivity-based bonus. Fringe benefits are comprehensive and at no additional cost to the new physician. This includes health and malpractice insurance, 401(k) savings plan, and paid time off. Partnership buy-in will be an option after two to three years for a minimal fee.
Albuquerque’s 5000-foot elevation makes for a true four-season climate with abundant sunshine over 320 days a year. Our terrain is so varied that people here have been known to play tennis in the morning and then take the aerial tramway to go skiing at Sandia Peak Ski Area in the afternoon.   • Maintain accurate medical files for all patients.
  • Promote eye health by teaching patients about proper eye care techniques.
  • Identify and assess eye defects and diseases such as diabetes and liver failure.
  • Record all diagnoses and treatment plans including transfers and therapeutic prescriptions.

The Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is recruiting a Pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level. We seek an outstanding individual with an MD degree who is board certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is eligible for Texas medical licensure. Duties will include sharing responsibility with our three current full time Pediatric Ophthalmologists in the didactic and clinical training of residents and fellows in Pediatric Ophthalmology and the clinical care of patients at Children's Medical Center Dallas and UT Southwestern-affiliated faculty practice sites. The successful applicant will have demonstrated medical and surgical skills and interest in all aspects of Pediatric Ophthalmology and adult strabismus. Candidates with expertise and scholarly interest in the medical and surgical management of Pediatric Glaucoma will be given preferential consideration.

The Dean McGee Eye Institute (DMEI)/University of Oklahoma (OU)-Department of Ophthalmology is seeking an American Orthoptic Council (AOC) certified orthoptist to assist in clinical evaluation and non-surgical management of children and adults with strabismus and amblyopia.  The pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus service currently has two full-time physicians, two part-time physicians, and one full-time orthoptist.  Our neuro-ophthalmology service also treats adult strabismus and has 3.5 full-time faculty.  DMEI is unique in that it is an independent 501c(3) institution that is located on the OU Health Sciences Center campus and houses the OU Department of Ophthalmology.  The medical staff of 42 providers includes a blend of full-time medical school faculty employed by the University, as well as clinical faculty employed by the Eye Institute, who work together seamlessly to provide high-quality comprehensive and subspecialty eye care to the state and surrounding region.  We have clinic facilities at the Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma and DMEI, as well as a DMEI satellite clinic in Edmond.  Combining the 3 locations, we have a total of 13 fully equipped long exam lanes, each with new M&S systems, dedicated to pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.  A board-certified or eligible clinician-scientist with fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology.

University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston, Texas

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) in Galveston, Texas is actively recruiting enthusiastic Pediatric Ophthalmology candidates. 

This position will provide cross coverage care in our League City, Texas City, and Galveston locations. Care will include examinations, outpatient clinics, and consults and will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in committee memberships at the department and Health system level.

Candidate Requirements - Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited medical school with residency training in Ophthalmology and a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. The candidate must also be Certified/Board eligible in Ophthalmology and have a valid unrestricted Texas medical license.
