What we Need…
We seek an American Board Eligible or Certified Ophthalmologist to help us provide patients with excellent pediatric eyecare in an office designed just for kids. Fully computerized with all the latest equipment, our Ophthalmic Assistants and Scribes will assist you before, during and after patient exams so all you have to do is diagnose and treat.

Only candidates who have completed a US Residency in Ophthalmology will be considered and a Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship is preferred but not required.

We Offer…

  • $1,000-$1300/day, $5000-$6,500 week
  • Flexible schedule: any time Mon-Fri, 8a-6p
  • Short Term, Stop Gap, Part Time or Long Term basis
  • Airfare, Hotel, Rental Car, Malpractice, provided
  • Independent Contractor, 1099 position
  • MDs Only (Pediatric Fellowship preferred but not required)

Pediatric Ophthalmologist-Assistant Professor


Banner University Medical Center – Tucson (BUMC-T)

The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of Arizona and Banner University Medical Group (BUMG) is seeking an Ophthalmologist with fellowship training and experience in Pediatric Ophthalmic services. This is an exciting role for a dynamic physician to join a faculty team involved in academic medicine, including key teaching roles for medical students, residents and fellows. Scope of practice will include providing comprehensive eye care, surgical responsibilities, and managing most ophthalmic emergencies. Clinical services are provided at the Alvernon Eye Clinic in Tucson, with on-call and consultative coverage to two Banner-University Medical Center campuses in Tucson.

 Our 479-bed hospital is located at the University of Arizona Health Sciences at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. BUMC-T is nationally recognized for providing exceptional patient care, teaching new health care professionals, and conducting groundbreaking research through the physician-scientists of the University of Arizona College of Medicine. BUMC-T is certified as a Primary Stroke Center (with active plans underway for Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification) and is designated as the only Level I trauma center in Southern Arizona.

Qualifications, features and schedule:

  • BC in Ophthalmology
  • Successful completion of an Ophthalmology Residency in the U.S.
  • Globe rupture repair & ability to manage most ophthalmic emergencies
  • Interest and ability to help teach and mentor residents/medical students
  • Supervise resident clinics, laser, diagnostic imaging & minor procedures 
  • Work schedule: 8 half day sessions per week (varied patient load)
  • Unrestricted call coverage: supports trauma call and Inpatient ophthalmology consults

Qualified candidate will receive a faculty appointment with the University of Arizona Department of Medicine, commensurate with their credentials.

Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Phoenix Children’s Hospital

The Division of Ophthalmology at Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a board certified pediatric ophthalmologist to join our current team of ten physicians. Members of the division participate in clinical care, teaching medical students and pediatric residents and have the opportunity for clinical and basic science research. We have affiliations with Mayo Clinic Medical School, University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and Creighton Medical School. The candidate will be an integral and interactive member of the Division of Ophthalmology and participate in the inpatient and outpatient management of ophthalmology patients.

Our center is the major referral center in the Southwestern region for pediatric ophthalmology patients providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with a variety of eye disorders. The center has high pathology and performs 1600 cases per year. Our physicians care for and treat all fields of pediatric ophthalmology including congenital and infantile glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, retinoblastoma, oculoplastics and adult strabismus.

Phoenix Children's Hospital, ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals, is Arizona’s only licensed children’s hospital providing world-class inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency and urgent care to children and families in Arizona and throughout the Southwest.
